The Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup butter / 227 g, softened
3/4 cup / 150 g granulated sugar
3/4 cup / 150 g packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon / 5 g vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose / 300 g flour
1 teaspoon / 6 g baking soda
1/2 teaspoon / 3 g salt
2 cups / 340 g semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
